Q: IE 6 max-min-height bug. Workaround?

Dear CSS list reader,

IE6 does not support min-height, max-height. Is there a workaround for
the following problem?

http://www.scentech.ch/public/htmlcss/test1.html

The left cell - where is the text - has an unknown size, the middle
cell on the right should show the arrow picture. And, most important,
the upper and the lower cell should join without a gap. The
printscreen shows what I mean.

Thank you for any comment.

True

This is irrelevant, as min-height and max-height don't aply to table
cells, or at least they don't anyhow contribute to the way table is laid
out.

I don't understand this. How can two parts that aren't adjacent be
joining gaplesly?
Thank you for any comment.

What are you really trying to do? Your example is too simple to know what
you are trying to do, even if it demonstrates well what you think should
happen. Why are you using table?

Is there really just one letter in each silver box? Or is that silver box
content at all? If there is something instead letters in silver boxes,
what it is?

Hello All, I am a MySQL newbie trying to write a query that selects file_name records possessing the highest numbered version for that unique file_name. I show sample data and two trial queries below. Logically I want to use max(version) as a constraint in a Where Clause. However, the max() function is not allowed directly in a where clause. I have contemplated a second table to track the max version for each file name. I would like...

Hi all, I am a little stumped. I have a query I am trying to run to retrieve the last Progress Note record from the database for the current patient so that the therapists can see the last note while typing the current note. This seemed to be simple to me, since I figured, you take the max(TxDate) that exists before my current date and all should be fine. I tried that and got all the records that exist for this patient before that date.

After tracking down a bug in my Fortran program, I found that it assumed max(NaN,0.) = 0. This makes no sense, as the outcome of the operation is undefined and should be NaN. max(NaN,0.) = NaN After researching, it appears the first outcome is accepted behavior, and might be included in the revised IEEE 754 standard, which affects

so I keep optimizing my fields down to the minimum character length necessary i.e., varchar(15), then I find out a month later its gotta get bigger, then a few months later, bigger again, etc. Nowadays on sql server 2005 and on, how bad is it really to use varchar(max)? Is there really a big performance or storage hit or is it negligible? -Mike

This forum has been so helpful to me. Mr Moderator, I know I should at least attempt this myself before asking for help, but I don't know where to begin. My max case 'sql' works fine, but I my 'when' statement needs to be dynamic. I am extracting a set of data from Teradata (current year and 2 previous years) and loading it into an Oracle table. The data is in 3 columns so I max case to pivot the table to: EMPNO YEAR1 RATING1 YEAR2 RATING2...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
