W3C validator: "No style sheet found"

Trying to validate stylesheets with <http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/>
I get no errors with "profile=no ne"
<http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profi le=none&uri=www .unics.uni-hannover.de/nhtcapri/>
or with "profile=cs s2".
<http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profi le=css2&uri=www .unics.uni-hannover.de/nhtcapri/>

But with "profile=cs s1"
<http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profi le=css1&uri=www .unics.uni-hannover.de/nhtcapri/>
I get "No style sheet found".

Any explanation?

This is only a guess, but it may because you link to the stylesheet
with media="screen". Media-dependent rules were not part of the CSS1
specification.

Yes, but <LINK rel="stylesheet " media="..." ... > is part of the
HTML 4 specification no matter of the style language used.

I'm having trouble finding the character entity for the French abbreviation for "number" (capital N followed by a small supercript o, period). My references are not listing it. Where would I find an answer to this question (don't find it in the W3C_char_entities document). -- Haines Brown brownh@hartford-hwp.com

How much are you interested that the attribute "style" will offer the same or similar capabilities like they are provided by the element "style" in the element "head"? Do you want that the document "Syntax of CSS rules in HTML's "style" attribute" (http://www.w3.org/TR/css-style-attr) will become an official recommendation in the near future? Apologies if the terminology isn't quite right here... say we have the following code: <SELECT NAME="p1_val" class=list-element> If the class "list-element" isn't defined, is it possible to specify an alternative class that is to be used? (Rather like the <font face=...>

Hello all, I'd like to know and understand the difference between, say, <img src="/ImageFilename.png" width="123" height="456" alt=""> and <img src="/ImageFilename.png" style="width: 123px; height: 456px;" alt="">

In posting to a blog, I would like to bold every list item (<li>). Because I cannot influence the <head>...</head> section of the HTML document, I can neither add a <style>...</style> block, nor reference an external style sheet. Is there a way to accomplish this using the "style" attribute and/or using div or span tags? I want to do something like this: <!-- desired application of css !--> <div style="li {font-weight: bold;}">

Here's a puzzle I can't figure out. I visited the page http://validator.w3.org, and confirmed that it validates itself. Then I *saved* it to my docroot directory using my browser's save-as function, and then tried to submit this saved page for validation. Now it generates 17 errors, of the form: end tag for "link" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
