On many web sites or pages (including my own home page) clicking on
certain links will start downloading a PDF file, sometimes without the
author having provided any warning in the text of the page that this is
going to happen (although in some -- all? -- browsers the "next link"
line at the bottom of the browser window may show that the next line is
a ".pdf" file).
I was recently on a page in which clicking on a link brought up a small...

I'm trying out ASP.Net and am currently trying to figure out how to refresh
the contents of one frame based on a button click in another frame. The
button in question is actually a server side control whose associated action
is to add a record to a database table. The "other" frame is displaying a
view of that table and I want it to automatically refresh to display the new
record.
Is there a way to accomplish this via ASP; i.e., without...

For some reason I can't Response.AppendHeader("Refresh",
Convert.ToString((Session.Timeout * 60) + 60) & "; URL=default.aspx")
to add the tag into the header.
In the source the refresh header is not added to the head tags. Any
ideas?
I've tried in page init, page load, and page prerender.
Thanks.

Hello,
Currently I am using a large input form on a website that is based on
ASP and JavaScript.
Depending on the values that are filled in by the user the forms does a
refresh and makes other input fields available to fill in. I use the
JavaScript OnChange function (=clientside) that creates a querystring
and does a refresh of the page. It works fine.

hello,
i have a section of a page that has multiple dropdowns.
each dropdown calls the same method on a change of selection by the
user. the method loops over all the dropdowns and if the newly
selected items matches a previously set item, it changes the
dropdown's background color from white to yellow and nulls out the
previous selections value.
this is working just fine functionally, but every postback causes the
screen to refresh and...

Hi all,
I have database actions that will potentially take several seconds to
complete.
My normal page uses AJAX so keeping the user informed of what is
happening is not a problem.
However, the page also has fallback code in case of no Javascript. In
this case I would like to display temporary "please wait" type page

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
