(CSS) Absolute positioning for a single table row possible?

Hi,

I have a long table with flexible column width.

Now want to make the first row (containing column titles) sticky by
absolute CSS positioning so that it remains visible while the following
rows scroll.

I cannot split the table because then the column width would not match.

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,
Jörg

Hi, I am in the process of embarking on building a large web application. I wanted to seize that opportunity to learn how to use CSS and get rid of my ad-hoc approach to HTML-coding (i.e.: add tables until either the result is OK or I decide to start over). However I do not seem to be able to get it right. Experimentation is beginning to...

Hej, I have a table with 1 row and 2 columns. In both columns are images below each other. In the right cell are less images, so the height of this cell is smaller. Anyway, I want a navigation image at the bottom of both cells. Both cells share the same CSS class "menubar": td.menubar

I have a simple form. I am trying to be good and allow for both font sizing, and fluid layout. What I want is for the input boxes to align horizontally next to the labels, but to jump down to the line below when the browser gets too thin. I have put up an quick example here:
