Sorry for the stupid question.

I am creating my first website and need some help desperatley. I have
choosen to use Front Page XP for this simple Intranet project. All I am
trying to do is:

1. Collect childrens names for a Cartwheel-a-thon on a registration page
2. Create a report showing that a specific child has won in a specific
category.

I have accomplished the first part. I can see the data being collected in
the _private folder, but i cannot figure out how to display the data via a
web page.

any help would be very much appreciated. i am trying to complete this for my
daughters gymnastics team and have just run into this major block.

you can email me at wi********@hotm ail.com.

thank you,
john

that simple choice may yet prove to be your biggest mistake.

how is the data being stored in the private folder? database? text file?

care to expand on that?

I have fp/extensions on my servers (available on demand) but no practical
experience. how would they be used to collect and store data?

It was only a guess. FP extensions create folders with underscore
names.

Well, it's been years since I played with them, and then only briefly.
If I remember rightly, they offer 'easy' set-up of database-like
functions such as discussion boards, catalogues and the like.

But mebbe my guess is wrong.

You're likely better off to look into the microsoft.publi c.frontpage.*
newsgroups. You'll probably find people with more experience with frontpage
than those in this group. We're more of a DIY group. :)

I read that you don't need .cs files to deploy but I suppose if you are trying to reconstruct someone's work, you will need these files. Is that correct?

I have posted this and similar questions repeatedly and can't even raise a single response. I am being led to believe that this then 'Must be a stupid question' although people say that there is no stupid question. Is that another for political correctness I am attempting an install of 7.4.3 on FreeBSD O/S 4.9, apparently remnants of 7.3.x are scattered around on the disk from (a) previous ports installation, causing mutex_lock/unlock,...

Hi, Is this a stupid question? Senario: Two tables linked together with an ID number. Question: When using a combo box, which refences another table by indexed autonumber, is there a way to copy the returned text value to a text field. I have many combo boxes and after the value changes I would like a normal text field to show the returned text value, regardless of which combo box was changed.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
