I am using an asp page (upload.asp) to gather information and to upload
files to the web server using SoftArtisans SAUpload Tool. In the first page

Using "SELECT * " is a bad practice even
when using a VIEW instead of a table?
I have some stored procedures that are
identical with the difference of one statement
in the WHERE clause. If I create a single View
and specify also in this View the WHERE clause
that is common in these stored procedures, I
will have the new stored procecures changed to
be like:

If you create a new server control, and override the Render method with the
following code:
protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter output)
{
// <TABLE id="mytable">
output.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Id, "mytable");
output.RenderBeginTag(HtmlTextWriterTag.Table);
// <TR>

Hi:
I get a TreeNode binding error when using Data property of XmlDataSource
control. When I switch to TextFile property and point to xml file on hard
drive, problem goes anyway. I'm initializing Data property with xml string
that matches file exactly. Seems to be problem with binding because if I
remove bindings, tree works both ways. I'm binding on server like so...
TreeNodeBinding bind = new TreeNodeBinding();
bind.DataMember =...

Hi guys, I have couple of simple python based active server pages
that make use of httplib2 which uses gzip.py. IIS, however, also has a
gzip.dll located at the iis/inetsrv path.
When using ASP the iis/inetsrv path is placed as the first item in
sys.path. Consequently importing httplib2 will cause the following
error:
import httplib2
File "c:\python24\lib\site-packages\httplib2-0.2.0-py2.4.egg

Greetings! I was researching AJAX to provide a solution to displaying status
messages while a long process executed. I found several examples online and
was able to use their code to get a quick application working. However, when
attempting to implement the solution, the AJAX calls weren't updating the
screen like the examples were and seemed not to fire until after the long
running process had completed.
I found the only real...

It is by accident that I noticed that I forgot to use
mysql_real_escape_string in part of my webapp.
I tested input with following text : Hélène 51°56'12'' http://www.mysite.org/folder
3 functions worked correctly and 1 failed:
The one that failed didn't have mysql_real_escape_string and neither
did 2 of the ones that worked: in those 2 I used prepared sql
statements (PEAR DB package). The other that I used was with...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
