What is the best code editor for CSS / HTML development?

1 New Member
I've started a web design service for local small businesses. I am looking for a hthml and css editor that would have some kind of project management built in so that I can switch between client work.

Do you have any suggestions?

It would be nice if it had the following feautures

- project management
- version management system
- a built in webserver
- abilty to upload directly from the editor

I do web design and I am using NetBeans. You can download lots of useful project management plugins for this IDE/ code editor.
Hope this helps =)

Take a look on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_HTML_editors and http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008...tors-reviewed/

Short options may include:
Aptana
Kmodo Edit
CodeLobster
Notepad++
PSPad

but if you have extra money, just go with Dreamweaver.

I would like to be able to view-only Visual Studio code files (.vb, .cs) in an application outside of Visual Studio. Is it possible to show the code in the same rich formatting (at least colors and indentation) as in a Visual Studio code editor page? Could be either an .rtb or VS.NET text control. Any ideas how to proceed? Thanks, Dean Slindee

Hello All: I am writing to ask for your opinions. I have a colleague who combines his code with the markup used to display the code (reckoning back to classic ASP). Here's an example of a datagrid column: <asp:TemplateColumn> <ItemStyle CssClass="TableData" Width="15%"></ItemStyle> <ItemTemplate> <a href="<%# ShowURL(DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,

Hi, Could you please name any C++ code editor which would have the similar refactoring features like Eclipse has in Java world? Oh, and it'd be nice if it was a freeware or open source software running on Linux platform. Thanks in advance, Andy

I am developing a VB project in VS2005 that has SP2 installed. This is the process that is causing a problem: Open VS2005, open the project Write some code in the code editor Run the project in debug mode, test some of the forms Close the main form which returns me back to the VS2005 code editor *At this point, when I type anything in the code editor, parenthesis are inserted after every letter I type. Also I can't backspace past two...

Let's say you want to use Moodle to teach an introductory class in PHP programming. Some of the students have little or no computer experience. In addition to background reading and topics-oriented assignments supplied by Moodle, you want to build an online text editor into the course, so students can type their PHP programs and HTML directly into files on the server, so they don't have to fight with NotePad on Windows PCs in a lab, and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
