Post Email to News on Church website?

33 New Member
Does anyone know of a service that would allow my Pastor to send an email that is automatically posted on the news section of the church website? I know blogging sites allow bloggers to send emails that are automatically posted, but I want to implement it into the actual church webpage. Anyone have any ideas or heard of something that would allow this?

Thanks!

You obviously need to connect to a mail server and dl new messages periodically for this to work.

There are two methods to do what you want and both of them will require some server side programming.
The first method is to emulate the POP3 protocol (it's quite simple) by manually opening a socket to the mail server.
The second method is to use an existing library that deals with the mail server and use it's interface to obtain the email. This is somewhat easier but there is slightly more overhead to it.

Thanks so much for the answer. Are you aware of any hosting services and/or purchasable software packages that do this? Is there a name for it that I could google?

I enjoy tinkering around in areas above my head, so I will look into what you said. However, if there is a software solution that currently exists, I may purchase it. I hate the idea of having to update the news page manually every time someone has something to add. Maybe I'm just lazy...

Thanks!

I need to redirect to another web page, but that redirect will include the submission of form data. So, unlike ServerXMLHTTP which stays on the originating web page, I need the script to redirect to the page that I'm submitting the POST data to (without pressing a submit button). Any suggestions? Thanks, Victor

I have to log into a website and retrieve some information. The problem is that the post isn't "normal". I'm used to passing post values in the form of: Variable1=Value1&Variable2=Value2 etc. I used Live Http Headers to retrieve the POST information, I included it at the end of this message. Can anyone tell me how to make THIS kind of post? Another thing, "Content-Type: multipart/form-data;

Hi, I am trying to use my vb.net app as a replacement to a normal browser to interface with a website. I am trying to achieve 2 things: 1) logon to the website 2) complete forms and submit data to the website (would I need to store cookies once I have logged on?) I've looked at various webrequest, POST resources without any luck. The logic behind what I need to do seems straightforward, but I'm finding

I am developing an application which will allow me to automatically sign into an external website. I can currently do a screen scrape using HTTPWEBREQUEST. However I want to just redirect to the external site. No need to pull back any data. Here is the code I am using. Dim encoding As ASCIIEncoding = New ASCIIEncoding Dim myParams As String = "AccessID=" & sUserID & "&Password=" & sPassword

Hi there, We have an application that posts data to the canadapost.ca website to retrieve postal codes. This was working for quite some time until this week when Canada Post changed their website. Now it no longer works. Here is the code snippet: Const CANADA_POST_URL As String = "http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pcl/bin/cp_search_response-e.asp"

Hi, I'm not sure if this can be done as I've searched the web and this forum. I am using an online merchant provider and I must post certain variables to their webforms through a form on my website. The issue is that I need to gauge whether a user has any items in their basket to decide which page I redirect them too. I could

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
