Flash .swf file will not play...

1 New Member
Hello everyone, I am relatively new to it all. Web development, css, html, forums, etc. I have a huge problem. I am attempting to make the switch from designing in Dreamweaver using tables to using CSS instead. I am redesigning a website, the company wants to use all the same design elements but restructure the site and add a flash banner . The site was originally designed using CSS and all design elements are already uploaded to their server. I have successfully restructured everything and added the new elements all but the flash banner which, when I test it ( on Mac, PC, on FF, IE,Safari, Opera) appears as a blank space. I have searched the internet for days and have found no answers. I have experimented with differents methods, but still no solutions. Is there is anyone who can help me figure this out? I am desperate. Doing a good job on this could mean employment as I am currently unemployed. I am running Windows Vista and using DreamWeaver and Flash 8. Pllllleeeaaasss eee Heeelp!

This usually is a symptom of bad link to the flash swf file.

put the file in the same directory and make sure your links to it are correct.

Windows creates the space with the <embed> tags, but won't load anything because it can't find it.

Let us know,

Hi, Can someone tell me how to get a flash file to play in Visual Basic .net? (VS2005) Tried adding a com component to the toolbox (as it worked in VS2003), but this produces an error in 2005 (seems to be a know bug with VS2005) All I want to do is PLAY flash files - and maybe control them (ie. play, pause, send vars to/from)

To embed flash objects in my pages, I read them from a database. A script file (Filedownload.aspx) reads it from the database, and streams it to the browser. Here are two example flash objects in a page. The first 1 (a simple link to an existing swf-file on the webserver) is showing in each browser (IE & FF), while the other one (using the...

Hi hopefully someone has come accross this issue, as it's doing my head in. We have a flash (.SWF file) banner to display, which does so fine in IE, but in firefox only seems to be about 1/3 size so looks tiny. Does anyone have any ideas? I've included the cut down code below...copy and paste where appropriate. The web page has an embedded...

Inserting a Flash (SWF, FLV) file into HTML web page is already an old and familiar thing to all of us. It is a rather non-flexible thing that just to edit some options in the template. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
