I'm trying to add some simple padding to an IMG by using a padding-right
style, but it doesn't work in IE. Works fine in Mozilla and Opera, though.
Here's a link to a page which displays this IE problem:
http://home.comcast.net/~delerious1/index12.html
I do know that I can solve the problem in IE by changing padding-right to
margin-right, but then the links cannot be clicked when the mouse is over that
margin area. So I would...

Hello,
I am fairly new to design and in particular CSS. I have a site with two
tables that I cannot seem to get sized correctly. When you view the link,
you'll notice that there is a tremendous amount of space inbetween the
cells, which is making the page entirely too long and/or wide. Can I style
these tables in a way that makes the text more compact. Any other advice
regarding the tables would be appreciated as well. Thanks in...

I am not a web programmer and trying to figure out the best way for laying
out a form for data entry. I would like, for example, to have a right
justified label followed by 5 pixals and a left justified textbox. Should I
use three columns for this, with the center column five pixals wide or two
colums with the table cell spacing set to five pixals.
Also, when is it appropriate to use the lable control as opposed to just
keying text into...

I need more space between my columns but increasing cellpadding increases
vertical spacing and the gridview flows below "the fold".
Is there some way to increase only horizontal padding? I tried setting
padding-left/padding-right in the row style but that did nothing.
Thanks.

For some reason my cell padding isn't working in IE.
It works beautifully in Firefox but IE just seems to ignore it.
.maintable {
width: 800px;
padding: 8px 8px 0px 8px;
height: inherit;

Hi all,
I have a table with 12 cols and 10 rows. When a user clicks on a table cell;
the page is refreshed and displays some data below the table dependant on
whichever cell was selected.
I would like to make it so that whichever cell was clicked; the background
color is changed - so that when the user sees the data, (s)he can tell which
cell it relates to.
Does anyone know of a clever way to do this ?

Is there a way to set the horizontal cell spacing or padding of a gridview
without setting the vertical spacing/padding? I'd like to be able to put
some space between the columns without putting space between the rows.
Thanks,
Greg

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
