Hi all
I have a simple 3 column css layout here:
http://www.carfolio.com/newlook.dhtml
However, when the centre column is wider than the screen (yes, it does
happen on some pages on the site and no it can't happen differently) then
the 3rd column overlays itself over the middle column's content. Is there
a css-based 3 column layout without ugly hacks that will give me a 3rd
column as far to the right as need be? Can anyone suggest a...

I have had a little free time lately to revisit a problem I have with the 3
column layout plus a header and footer.
See this example:
http://glish.com/css/7.asp
There is a header and 3 columns. Pretend there's a footer at the bottom, too.
:)
Here are the issues I have been unable to solve without tables _somewhere_

This problem has got to have a simple solution and I can't be the first
person who has ever handled it. Perhaps Google is no help because I'm
not using the right terms? (I did find one post on-point, but no one
responded to it.)
I have a two column layout with a header and a footer. If the "content"
is longer than the "navigation", there is no problem. However, if the
content is shorter than the navigation, the navigation menus...

Hi guys and gals,
I'm working on a 2 column CSS layout (for an ordering system) in which it
isn't a priori known which of the two columns will be the longest, that
depends on the (script generated) content. As there is also a following
footer DIV, the usual floating one of the DIVs technique doesn't give the
desired results, and has the floated DIV (if it is the longest one) being
displayed/rendered through the footer DIV.
I...

I help manage a large web site, one that has over
600 html pages... It's a reference site for ham radio
folks and as an example, one page indexes over
1.8 gb of on-line PDF documents.
The site is structured as an upside-down tree, and
(if I remember correctly) never more than 4 levels.
The site basically grew (like the creeping black blob) ...
all the pages were created in Notepad over the last

Is it possible to float left a few div elements so they stack left to right, but then have each "column" expand to the SAME length as the longest column? I am trying to make a border around a box that is made of background images, but the middle Section of divs need to expand to the same size as the middle div container since it holds the content of the page.
look at it like this
Div container
div div div (row 1)
div1 divX div2 (row 2)...

Can someone tell me how to make a div stretch vertically so it is
always the same height as its neighbor div, while the neighbor div
expands to fit its content (like a navigation bar on the left always
the same height as the content div)?

I've just created a site which tests perfectly in most browsers except IE6 which ruins the column widths. The third column is pushed below the middle column and I've tried numerous fixes to no avail. The site can be viewed at http://www.clearlygreendesign.com/endcruelty/index.html
The original CSS for the problem div is:
Code: Select all
#content {
width:270px;
height:615px;
background:#6a5126;

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
