As usual, validate your html and css for your list of errors.

I just noticed that most browsers render <table border="1"><tr><td><p>foo</p></td></tr></table> the same way as <table border="1"><tr><td>foo</td></tr></table> That is, they ignore the p markup in the sense that they don't apply the normal default top and bottom margins. This is rather odd, especially

I've got a couple of errors on my site that I'm not sure how to fix. I'm using simple CSS for both text rollovers and my horizontal navbar, and here's what happens. First, the site: www.sunbadgeco.com/sunmetal/index.htm #1 { In IE6, rolling over an image in the navbar makes it "light" up. Clicking on the image takes you to another page (which is not finished). Then clicking the Back button keeps the image you just clicked on "lit" up,...

Hello folks. I thought my home page was all fine and dandy, until I looked at it with Firefox in a smaller browser window. Instead of the central graphic dropping down below the text as in MSIE (a bug?), the text disappears underneath the graphic. Even the nav buttons start to go underneath if one squishes the window tiny enough. I was told it's probably not an (X)HTML issue but a CSS issue, and the most likely culprit is the margin...

Hi, there, I'm trying to do something, and part of the problem is that I don't know how to describe the effect. One block will have a list of links stacked over one another and separated by p tags. When the user hovers over any link inside this block, a description of a link will appear slightly to the right of the link (let's say 1 inch

I read somewhere that you can get Tim Murtaugh's Mo' Betta Rollovers to work in Firefox using just CSS (no javascript) . Can someone tell me how to do it? http://www.alistapart.com/articles/rollovers/

Do paragraph bottom margins overrule body margins? (To explain what I mean, http://www.xmission.com/~wake/computerrules.html has 5% margins, including the bottom margin, in IE, but not in Firefox. I assume Firefox does it correctly. Does this no-5%-bottom-margin happen because I have a specific paragraph bottom margin listed in the stylesheet after I have listed the 5% body margin?)

Can someone tell me how I can make it so that on this page http://s195679515.onlinehome.us/essence/index.html in Firefox, the space after the main content and the bottom boxes is only 5px? As it is now, it seems as though the Firefox is adding extra pixels, which I can't seem to find where in my code that is coming from. I've tried getting rid of the clear property of the div (#block), but that moves part of it up to the top of the screen.

I just noticed an unintuitive aspect of how nested blocks are positioned under a specific set of conditions, and although this is ostensibly correct behavior (unless Firefox, Safari, and Opera are all three simultaneously wrong about this particular quirk), I'm having a hard time figuring out the underlying premise of this behavior. Essentially, when a nested block has a non-zero top margin greater than that of its containing block, the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
