what is the local path?

14 New Member
Hi,

A bit of a noob here, but what's a local path? Say I have a file called pic.jpg in this folder: site.com/trial/. What would be the local path of the image?

Thanks!

/trial/pic.jpg is the absolute path while trial/pic.jpg may be needed as a relative path. Try the first one first.

That IS the local path. It can be relative to where the program is or you can specify an absolute address.

your local path is where you domain name and most of your other files are stored at.
So if you have a website called thescripts you will see a file called index.htm (html) or it could be thescripts.htm (html).
An other folder are called subfolders.

A question on html-forms: We have an application where users will get a CD with, among other things, some html-forms for them to fill in. When they click the submit-button, the data is transferred to a webserver php-script that will then process the info. The forms-definition looks something like this: <form action="http://www.ourdomain.com/receiver.php" method="post"> <p>Question 1:

Is there any way to create a local server during runtime? For example, if you add an existing Web Site to a Solution from within Visual Studio (by right clicking the solution in the Solution Explorer, then selecting Add - Existing Web Site...), then Visual Studio will create an ASP.NET Development Server on a random port (e.g., http://localhost:1619/Test). Can a similar thing be done during runtime with VB.NET? If not, is it possible to...

I am new to Pyton. I am trying to modify and understand a script someone else wrote. I am trying to make sense of the following code snippet. I know line 7 would be best coded with regex. I first would like to understand what was coded originally. thelistOut looks like a hash to me (I'm more familiar with perl). Perhaps someone could translate from perl to python for me - not in code but just in concept. Here is the code. This script...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
