Firefox requires refresh to render nested tables properly

Hi All,

I've got a test page that displays nested tables (it's machine generated),
it renders properly in IE6 and Opera 9. In firefox it renders properly after
I hit the refresh key, the first time you view it the borders overlap.

I know it has some strange table nesting, this is to overcome an IE bug.

Any clues on the Firefox (ver 2.0.0.3) problem would be appreciated.

You have validation errors - fix them, see if the problem still occurs,
then come back.

I have validated it and the tool passed it, would you mind saying which tool
you used, or perhaps I should say in the same vein -
tell me the tool you used.

Whether it validates or not, this is poor markup and I suspect that,
together with possible failure to size table elements, the unnecessary
nesting of tables is your problem. The source is an awful mess to read
and would be very difficult to maintain.

If it is necessary to use a table layout why not use more suitably
structured markup. Perhaps

<tr>
<td.... </td>
<td.... </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2".... </td>
</tr>

I did not overlook your rationale that the markup was "machine
generated" (whatever that means) but these things not handed down from
on high on tablets of stone. Whatever the scripting used, suggest you
change it. If, rather than scripting, you are using a WYSIWYG editor
this sort of nonsense structuring is par for the course.

I have a clickable graph that resides on page 1. If user clicks a data point on the graph, the page runs again yeilding a 2nd graph that shows a more detailed graph. Problem is, I have a recordset table on the 2nd graph page and because the user gets to it by clicking the graph, the page doesn't properly post to render the recordset table. I can click "Refresh" on 2nd page and table displays fine. Is there an ASP refresh command that...

Hi guys, I've got a page that shows a number of packages available for sale. Each package has a little description, and then a (sometimes long) list of features for each package. I thought it would be a good idea to let visitors hide the details for each package, so that they can see just the summaries together. So I borrowed some code (can't remember from where), which was designed for expandable/collapsible menu trees, and used it to...

I'm stumped. Visit: http://positivesweat.com/class.html ....and look at the tables in the middle labeled "morning" and "evening". Do this in both IE and Firefox. The tables appear to me to be defined identically (to take up 100% of the width of the parent table), and indeed IE makes them the same width, as I wanted and expected. But in Firefox (latest), the "evening"

I have an .aspx page that renders fine in IE6, but it does not render properly in Firefox. If I change the extension from .aspx to .htm everything renders just fine in Firefox. The problem I am having deals with stretching nested tables to fill the cell they are nested in completely. I have specified the embedded table to have a height of "100%", but it acts as if no height is given. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I am having a problem with the behavior of Firefox, where lefthand column content is not resized properly after it is "collapsed" and then "re-expanded". An online demo is available here: http://s161149005.onlinehome.us/DEMOS/FF/RESIZE_PROB/main/frameset.asp It works fine in IE 6, but in Firefox, it is broken. Specifically, when the page/frameset first loads in either browser, it looks correct. But when you click the...

Hi everyone, I am having an issue with my website http://motomastyle.com in Firefox. When I first navigate to the site, the posts I have made start below my navigation bar. After hitting the refresh button a few times, the page will finally render properly, as it does in IE, Opera, and Safari. I was wondering if this is due to the way I have my site laid out, or if this is some bug in the rendering engine. Finally, does anyone know of a way...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
