Why does slicing a tuple returns a new tuple instead of a view of the existing one, given that
tuples are immutable ? I ended up writing a custom ImmutableSequence class that does this, but I
wonder why it is not implemented for tuples.

I write most of my HTML by hand, but have been enjoying using
ImageReady CS to generate complex layouts from my Photoshop layouts.
Is ImageReady CS W3C-compliant? Is there a lot of tweaking that must
be done to the ImageReady-generated HTML to make it W3C-compliant?
Thanks.

I have two access databases. A and B
Both have a table with the same name (tbl_data entry) ie. same
structure/data.
I want to be able to transfer (export) data in this table from database A to
the same named table in database B - but i want the transferred data to be
ADDED to existing data already in database B.
I have tried the append query method but that simply REPLACES the existing
table data in B with the incoming data from...

I've got my code working so that it'll count the number of columns in
the table and move across (eg Range A-P and then range Q-W). Problem is
when I get to the end of the single letters and get into AA etc. Have
got an idea of how I could do it by using Chr() and having an ongoing
counter which is divided by 26 when it goes past Z to work out
location. However, I'd dearly like there to be an easier way. Any
ideas?
Another problem I'm...

The short of it:
If you needed to import a CSV file of a certain structure on a regular
basis(say 32 csv files, each to one a table in 32 databases), what
would be your first instinct on how to set this up so as to do it
reliably and minimize overhead? There are currently no constraints on
the destination table. Assume the user or some configuration specifies
the database name, server name, and filename+fullpath. The server is
SQL...

The following is part of the explanation on slices in the
tutorial:
The best way to remember how slices work is to think of the indices as
pointing between characters, with the left edge of the first character
numbered 0. Then the right edge of the last character of a string of n
characters has index n, for example:
+---+---+---+---+---+

I'm very new to using CSS and also the concept of slices for mouse-overs, and have made my first attempt at using ImageReady to generate slices of a world map. I basically wanted a map that would show various countries appearing to be depressed when "moused-over". To keep it simple at first, I just decided to try two countries.
After copying the HTML and JavaScript codes generated by ImageReady into the page I wanted to insert the map into,...

Hello,
I use access 2003 and attempting to export/copy records between two access databases (almost identical) with multiple tables (both databases having the same relations between the tables).
I have no problems exporting records with an addition query for a single table into a singel table of the other database.
However, i would like to create a function to export the records in one go from the multiple tables in the first database to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
