Passing Dynamic Text using Query String???

49 New Member
is it possible to pass dynamic text through the query string command??
I know you can just pass a variale through a link
eg.
www.text1.com/text1.asp?usern ame="Mike"

but i want to use the dynamic text from a repaeting region something like
www.text1.com/text1.asp?<%=(t empDB.fields.it em("username"). value%>

this works kind of it shows the name in the next page, but how do i read this "?<%=(tempDB.fi elds.item("user name").value%>" value on the next page???

You'll need to put ?username=<%=(t empDB.fields.it em("username"). value%>.

Then in the next page read it - Request.QuerySt ring("username" ).

That should work.

I'm running out the door so this might not be related but you might look into AJAX. Google for that if you aren't familiar.

I am generally new to dot.net, coming from "scriptish" web languages such as ColdFusion and Php. I have a few questions if you don't mind. First, how does one go about inserting dynamic SQL during run-time without lots of quotes? For example, adding "AND" clauses that may or may not be present based on the query criteria form. Some of...
