Overlayed images in link - clickable in Moz, not in IE

Hello.

I'm trying to have an image (a GIF with transparency) overlayed on
certain of several inline images that link to different pages.

What I have so far looks right (or right enough) in both SeaMonkey
(mozilla) and IE6, but in IE6 the link isn't clickable. It shows the
destination URL in the status bar but the cursor remains an arrow and
nothing happens when I click. In SeaMonkey it works just fine.

Here's my code...

In the CSS file:

img.ClearBug {
position:absolu te;
left: 0;
}

div.clearfab {
display: inline;
position: relative;
width: 100px;
}

In the page HTML:

<div class="clearfab ">
<a href="/XYZ.html">
<img SRC="/graphics/XYZ.jpg" BORDER=0 height=100 width=100>
<img SRC="/images/Clearance1.gif" BORDER=0 height=100 width=100
class="ClearBug ">
</a>
</div>

IMPORTANT: Note that because of compatibility issues with other
software the site uses I cannot use inline styles. It must be done
with external .css files.

Any clues as to why IE won't let me click the link? Is this a known
bug?

Thanks for any insight.

Never mind, I figured it out. I moved the first tag in the <apair
after the first image. Works fine in both browsers now. Must be a bug
in IE. Go figure.

In my style sheet I've set the links like this: a:link{ text-decoration:none; } I did that for the pseudo classes and I also did that for the image tag. Yet there are still link lines around the images. Why? It's on this page:

I styled my links just the way I want them using CSS, but now my linked images have picked up these same styles. I've tried turning the styles off for the images with: a img { text-decoration: none; outline: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;

I have spent the day learning how to use Zend Development Environment. I can now produce a list of files in a directory, filtered by extension, and apparently clickable. Unfortunately clicking on them in a browser doesn't take me to the file link. I have found examples for clickable URL's, FTP links and mailto addresses but not files. I am managing to produce output like this: <a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
