HTML based DVD browser

1 New Member
Hi,
I am producing a DVD that contains dvd video and a html based browser. The video content is slideshows, and the browser is designed to show individual photos and allow high quality prints.
What I would like to do is use the html browser as the autorun menu for pcs. I can get the page to run on insertion of the dvd so all is okay there.

What I need help with is creating a link in the browser page that will launch the default application for the dvd video content (obviously this is not an issue if the end user just pops it into their dvd player). What I don't want is too embed the video.

Please post your suggestions, thanks.

(if this isn't the place for XHTML, I'd appreciate a redirect) According to the w3's web site, some non-HTML 4 browsers won't properly interpret non-minimized boolean attributes, i.e. <option value="blah" selected="selected">...</option> ^^^^^^^^^^^ Can anyone tell me what browsers those might be? I'm in the process of converting some marginal HTML to something resembling XHTML, and

I wanted to spiff up my overly spartan homepage, and started using some CSS templates I found on a couple of weblogs. It looks fine in my browser (IE 6.0), but it doesn't print right. I tested the blogs, and one definitely didn't print right. Surveying the web, my impression is that CSS is very unreliable, because even updated browsers fail to implement the standards correctly. So should one just avoid CSS? Or is it OK if used...

I have an aspx page with a data grid, some textboxes, and an update button. This page also has one html input element with type=file (not inside the data grid and runat=server). The update button will verify the information that has been entered and updates the data base if the data is correct. Update will throw an exception if the data is not validate based on some given rules. I also have a custom error handling page to show the...

Hi I have a form (Allocation_Sub_Form) which is based upon a query. This query draws information from a number of tables depending on what invigilators are invigilating particular exams. This form is then used as a subform on another form (Allocation_Form). One of the fields that is retrieved from the query is a check box however when the form is open it is not possible to change the value in this check box. Is there a way that a user can...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
