display: none -> block -> table-row

Hi,
Do you know some browsers that would misbehave with these three lines of CSS
code:
table.liste tr {display:none;}
table.liste tr.headers {display: block;}
table.liste tr.headers {display: table-row;}
My idea was to hide some rows of a table by first hiding all rows, then
restoring the needed rows.

I tried this:

table.liste tr {display:none;}
table.liste tr.headers {display: table-row;}

but IE didn't show the headers because probably it didn't understand the
"table-row" value.

The page is here (the example I gave is a simplification) :

Thank you for your comments.

IE doesn't support the CSS table model.

I have a large form that is generated dynamically in a jsp using xml / xslt. So, to break up this form into several "tabbed" sections, I break up the form using <div> tags. Each <div style="display:none"> can be displayed by setting the style attribute to "display:", or hidden with "display:none". This gives the illusion that the person filling out the form is switching from page to page...without the overhead of extra hits on the server,...

This is a small table with hover on the table cells. The first cell is setup to switch from div element to input element by use of display:block/none. In IE, onclick the input element is displayed correctly but it disappears if another hover is triggered. Any thoughts? Thanks,Jonny <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN">

For increased accessibility, I've replaced "display:none" with the Off-Left method of hiding my CSS drop-down menus because the Jaws screen reader doesn't see any of the menus hidden with "display:none". The Off-Left method (placing elements way over to the left beyond the browser window) seems to work well in everything except IE 6 for the PC, where it displays the drop-downs about an inch to the right of where they should be. (View...

Hi group, I have this obscure problem that really needs to be fixed, but I am out of ideas. Because the original script is very big, I'll try to summarize its functionality. Setup: - many form-elements that will 'activate' a part of the form based on the selection made.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
