css - round corners and list items in a table cell

Hi,

I'm trying to create a site index page. The page layout will consist of
a header, left navigation and content display. The left navigation and
content display should look like the image file pasted at the bottom of
this page

http://www.open365test.net/index_test.html

I created a stylesheet for the list items as shown at the top of the
test page. Then I tried to bring this list items into a table. When I
tried to put table td tags around it, it seems to condense the list
items. I was wondering if anyone can help me fix it, in the table.
Also, is it possible to make round the corners of the light green
rectangles around each list item in css.

I will greatly appreciate any help and suggestions.

Thanks,
Deepak

Don't use tables for non tabular data.

Your code is invalid, so results are unpredictable. 2 elements with the
same id is illegal. And since you have no DOCTYPE, browsers are thrown
into quirks mode, making results even more unpredictable.

BTW, it seems unlikely that you really need a layout table, anyway. If
you are having trouble with CSS, why don't you just get one of the
hundreds of templates that are already available?

See <URL:http://css-discuss.incutio .com/>
There are articles on using CSS, as well as links to many samples and
tutorials, including several on rounded corners.

I haven't found in my CSS book how to create a gradient to fill a division tag, and to create a border with round corners. Is it possible using either CSS or JavaScript? I'd like to create a menu bar with a gradient in the background, and I want the top corners to be a little round with a 5px radius. Thanks, -- Kerberos.

I have a long list of items that the user will be able to select from. When they select an item, I'd like to have more detailed information appear on the right side of the screen. I've already got a datagrid set up with the clicking working correctly. Problem is, I'd like to have the list be scrollable but leave the info on the right alone. What can I put around the datagrid so that the entire thing becomes scrollable? TIA - Jeff.

I've been reading lots of rounded corners table tutorials lately, because I'm a Perl guru, not an HTML guru. :-) So far all of the examples I've seen have edges with narrow angles, which fit easily into a single corner cell. Simple stuff. Piece of cake. By now I can do them in my sleep while juggling hippopotamuses and hanging upside down. But this one is different. In this particular case, it takes three corner edges to hold each...

Something that I've been trying to do for a long time is a 3 column layout where all three columns have equal height, and have rounded corners implemented using PNGs with alpha. One of my early attempts is here: http://www.nrkn.com/3ColRoundAlpha/ It shows a bunch of different methods that I tried. You'll see that not only is there a hell of a lot of nesting of divs, but the page is very slow to load because there are a lot of image...

Hi All, I have seen many web sites where they have small round corners around the tables rather than the traditional square one without using images. Would like to know what css attributes or anything else is used to have rounds (inward/outward) etc on the html page? Thanks in advance.

I understand that the Value put into a DataGridViewComboBoxCell has to be a member of the Items list or an exception is thrown. I also understand that you can override that exception by handling the DataError event and just doing nothing in the circumstance that caused the error. Here's my situation: I would like to allow the user to EITHER select an item from the ComboBox (in a DataGridView) OR type in a new value of their own.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
