Hi,
I want to display text on screen with anti aliasing to make it appear
smoother. Is it possible to do this in browsers by perhaps applying a
style to it or is it entirely up the the browser? Cheers

Neither. It's usually an operating system setting.

The reason why Firefox doesn't antialias small font sizes is intended
functionality (improvement of readability for small fonts), coded into
Firefox. You can't change it.
There is no way via HTML you can force a browser to antialias text or
not. Period.

I get the point. I admit I was sort of flying over you posting and
misinterpreted you a little bit.
Yes, it is both a feature of the OS *and* the use of this feature by the
browser.
But the OP was - IMHO - the question, whether it could be possible for a
stylesheet to change the antialiasing behaviour.
The answer to this is still "no".

All html tags start with < and end with >. Suppose i want to display either '<' or '>' or say some text like '<Company>' in html how do i do it?
One method is to use <, > ,<Company> to display '<', '>' and '<Company>' respectively.

does the included file have to identify itself as a PHP again by
enclosing its code in <?php... <?>
One would assume that the PHP interpreter works like any other, that
is, it first expands all the include files, and then parses the
resulting text. Can anyone help with an explanation?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
