WEB LAYOUT HELP

I need some help designing a webpage.

My problem lies in making the page viewable on all resolutions.

The layout can be found at http://www.dj-mitch.com/aboutus.gif

The purple curve at the top of the screen is giving me the most
trouble.

I would like for that curve to expand to the screen size.

I can make the picture really big and just scale it down to the screen
size but I can't figure out how to do that and display the images to
the right of it at their correct locations. I have read that I can use
CSS and create layers but I'm new to this and don't understand how and
what problems I will run into using CSS.

I would rather not use multiple images, one for each resolution, or
multiple pages and read a different one per resolution.

I have tried using a table and scaling the image using that, but then I
can't put the images on the right in the correct spots?

Can anyone help me achieve this design and have it work on all
resolutions???

I am stumped. I am not requesting you do the site for me, but just some
help. :-)

Thanks!!

And you posted a duplicate of this article, with a similar subject
line, to ciwa.site-design.

I'm trying to make the transition from tables to CSS, and I need someone to explain how to achieve the following layout (understanding the concepts behind this layout will help me considerably in grokking CSS positioning): http://unifiedmind.com/images/css-example.gif In this example, boxes one and two are wrapped in a box that is 100% wide.

This problem has got to have a simple solution and I can't be the first person who has ever handled it. Perhaps Google is no help because I'm not using the right terms? (I did find one post on-point, but no one responded to it.) I have a two column layout with a header and a footer. If the "content" is longer than the "navigation", there is no problem. However, if the content is shorter than the navigation, the navigation menus...

For a QApplication (PyQt) on the small screen of my Zaurus 5500 PDA I try to layout my data output in a QScrollView as the central widget. I'd prefer to use QGridLayout, but cannot add it to the scroll view. sc=QScrollView(self) layout=QGridLayout(..., sc.viewport()) sc.addChild(layout) results in a TypeError.

Hi, I am new to this newsgroup and need help in the following questions. 1. I am workin' on a GUI application. Does C# provides Layout Managers the way Java does to design GUI? I know that it can be done using the designer but I intentionally don't want to use that. The one reason is that you cannot change the code generated by the designer. The other could be that you have more free hand and control to design your GUI. 2....

How can I find the "My Profile" tab on the Start page. I have the "Recent Projects", "Getting Started" and "Visual Studio Headlines" in panes on the left hand side and "MSDN: Visual C++" on the right. The idea of this is very simle. The site is 800px wide and sits in the middle of the browser window, on either side of the site I want a different background image aligned against it. If I were doing this with table based layout the code would be as follows: <head> <style type="text/css"> #bgleft { background: url(left_half_circle.gif) right top repeat-y;

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
