<optgroup> with disabled attribute

I've been having some trouble with a set of <select><optgro up><option>
dropdowns.

I've been experimenting with the disabled attribute in the <optgroup>
and <option> tags.
Seems to work in NN but not IE.

Yet this link shows Microsoft advertising that the disabled attribute
is supported by them.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...s/optgroup.asp

Does anyone know the final word on this?

Thanks,

Stewart

Microsoft's documentation on IE has some manifest errors.

IE does not implement the disabled attribute for <option> or <optgroup>
as defined in the HTML specification. It recognizes it though and
includes it into the DOM, so you can use it in a client-side script*).
And you could use CSS to make a disabled option look different from
selectable options.

This is inconvenient but not a serious limitation, since the attribute
itself is virtually useless without client-side scripting.

*) I guess the best way is to do that in an onchange attribute for the
<select> element. You could check whether the chosen option is a disabled
one and discard the change if it is.

I have a customer who has requested that I add "popup" text (a la ToolTips) to a couple of pulldown lists in a DHTML form we have in our project. He says - Just use the ALT tag. I went and double checked, and the ALT property only shows up for the IMG tag. Can anyone help me with how to implement this? What they want is some amplification to the list selections. TIA Ron Lounsbury

I have two select boxes. When the user picks a value in the first one it completely re-populates the second one. It works fine, but only generates a standard OPTIONS list and I now want to group the options using OPTGROUPs. <select name="Selector1" size="1" onchange="reload2(this.options.selectedIndex, document.Form1.Selector2)"> <option ..... </select>

In a <select> drop-down, the onchange event isn't called when scrolling through the dropdown using the mouse-wheel and when crossing over a new <optgroup>. Using the example below, notice how the onchange event isn't called when mouse wheel scrolling between A3 and B1, but it works properly when scrolling between A1 and A2. Hello, I'm trying to move the options of one select list to another select list. The "source" select list is divided into optgroups, and the "target" select list is not. I want to somehow keep track of the moved option's optgroup, so that if I remove it from the "target" select list, it moves back into it's respective optgroup in the "source" select list. I have things moving back and forth, but I'm not sure how to handle the optgroup...

The goal is: Make it send the email with the URL http://mghospedagem.com/images/controlpanel.jpg instead of http://mghospedagem.comhttp://mghospedagem.com/images/controlpanel.jpg As u see, there's the website URL before the image URL.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
