Hidden column in HTML page

Hi,

I'm trying to define an extra column in an HTML table. The extra
column should not be displayed.

I added style="width:0% ;visibility:hid den;" to its tag.

Although I don't see the actual column I can see a large space at the
end of the table (where the extra column was supose to be drawn).

Any Idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks a lot,

Yaara.

You are not reading the CSS spec. What you want is
"display:none;" . This has nothing to do with html.
Get the CSS spec. Subscribe to the style newsgroup.

A url would help.

Anyway:

'visibility:hid den' will not affect page layout.

Try 'display:none' .

Hi, I'm developing a websolution using ASP and DHTML technology that's running on a MS IIS webserver. My solution is frame based with a toolbar on top, a hidden frame for scripts in the middel (all actions run here), and on bottom html pages will be shown. The bottom page contains forms witch is developed with a 3ed party design tool from Acrobat and stored as HTML. It wouldn't be any problem storing these files as html. But the main...

Hi all, I'm having this little problem here. I want to build a database which contains a list of books I want to read. What I want to do is, to make MS-Access get all relevant information from the library's online database (for example if they have the book and so on). So what I thought doing is making a form with a hidden webbrowser control. For every record in my table the webbrowser control is triggered and the html page is send back...

Hopefully someone has had to handle this type of situation in .NET before. I have an ASP.NET (VB.NET) that has an interface to an API CGI script program. I send a credit card number, amount, etc to the API via a HTML interface doing a form post to that specific server and port. The API passes the parameters and then processes the transaction to the database of the program. It then returns an HTML page (all hidden) back to me in the post back...

After reading about text line length http://psychology.wichita.edu/surl/usabilitynews/72/columns.htm , I'm thinking about experimenting with columns of text on a page. Is it possible on an HTML page to have 2 columns of text where the text of one column flows to the next on the visible part of the page, and scrolling treats the 2 columns like the bottom of the right column is connected to the top of the left column? Scrolling down...

I am a novice Perl programmer and need to change a perl script that I use to create web pages with thumbnail images and some text. Currently the script created a web page for each artist / category with all the thumb images below one another in the table. Thus the table has one column with a row for each image. I am trying to change the script to have 3 columns in the table in the end (first testing with second column as in the attached...

I think I already know the answer to this one, but I'm giving it the old college try. My problem is this: I have an HTML form that sends a bunch of data to a Perl script, where it is validated and read into a database. The powers that be have decided in their infinite wisdom that the initial page needs to be broken into two parts. (This is an attempt to correct some common user errors, not because of any technical reasons.) So I'm...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
