Hi again,
Last time my server was down(as for many others I have heard), but now
it is online again!
I would be really really happy if someone could take a look at my
problem a bit. I now have two problems...It is the difference between IE
and FF..
Problem #1.
Centering! It centers in FF but not in IE! It did yesterday but now when
I mest around with my code again it doesn't center in IE anymore..The
code is valid, so I shouldn't have forgotten anything.
Problem #2.
This was my original problem. The spacing between #bottom and
#copyright! It renders good in FF but the space is much bigger in IE! I
think I have tried everything but nothing helps...:(
Could anyone be so kind to help me a bit?
The url is: http://www.nitromedia.se/kunder/test/
Kind regards,

This line: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> is the cause of the
centering problem in IE6. The doctype only 'works' if it's on the
first line.
But even if you take that first line off so you get the doctype on the
first line, you'll have the same problem, only not in IE6, but IE5.
See here on how to center in IE5: http://locusmeus.com/html-css/centeringpage.html
The space between the flower and the footer is caused by the bottom
margin of the list (Lite blandat) on the right.

Thanks Els!!! Yeah, I did some stuff with the xml yesterday! And always
I look at the wrong place!
And for the spacing - it was the content(the list) that was trouble...So
I fixed it temp. Still the space between the title and the list accours
in IE..And that is the main problem of the whole thing I think..
Thank you for your time!!!

At http://www.douglaidlaw.net/boykett/index.html I have a menu of buttons
generated by a "self-serve" Web site. As originally supplied, all the
buttons were in a block, hard up against each other. Now they are spaced
out. I have tried using the "margin" CSS variable set to 0, but I can't
have the syntax correct, because NVU keeps deleting what I write.
Am I on the right track, or do I need to try something different?
I do intend to...

I have a table with 3 columns in 1 row. I want to increase the spacing
_between_ the columns (gutter) _without_ increasing the spacing between
those columns and the table itself. Is there a way to do that in CSS
without having to code in extra dummy columns in HTML to create gutters?

1. Horizontal centering a <divin browser window.
The current trend seems to be to place page content in a fixed width area in the middle of the
browser window. How is this achieved? If I use a top level <divthen I can place it with CSS
attribute 'left:', but this is a fixed offset. Is it possible to have a <divcentered in the
browser window?

I inherited a website to maintain and there is a minor spacing glitch that
shows up in IE v6, but not in FireFox v1.5. The website is
www.crhschoir.org and the problem is with the second row of buttons. There
are two buttons in the center (Charm Calendar and Forms) with one blank
button to the left and one to the right. In IE the blank buttons are ever
so slightly larger than the other two buttons. If I add a link to the blank
buttons,...

I have several sites that use _very_ similar CSS. (Developed
with the copy and change model.) On all Mac browsers except IE5,
all of these sites have a box centered in the viewport.
On IE6/WinXP, ONE of these sites has the box against the left side
if the viewport.
I'm hunting for what is different, but since I don't have Windows
at home, it's tough. Oddly enough, the one with the problem is
supposed to be an unchanged copy of one...

Hi everyone,
This is a brief description that I have provided for parsing & displaying an XML document using DOM API. Please feel free to post your own comments & views regarding this discussion. Thank you.
The first step of parsing an XML document is to import the DOM API related classes such as :-
java.io.* which contains all the interfaces to perform an I/O operation.
org.xml.sax.* which contains all the interfaces...

Hello,
I've created a table that has two rows that are span across three columns.
The third row has three columns, each with an image. The last row is also
span accross three columns. The span rows are centering their data.
however, the row with three columns, each with images (myimages1-3) are not
centering with the rest of the table. Any idea why?
Thanks in advance!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
