Hello everyone
I am baffled by the behaviour of a webpage that I am trying to design(when
viewed in ie6).
I believe the problem arises when I use floats(at least that is the only
occasion when I notice it).
My page is set up so that I have a content box centered, and a box to create
an interior margin(both divs).
I also want to have a third box which would float to the right. For some

I noted a particular behavior shown by IE. Look at the simple page
attached at the bottom of the post. In it, there is a box floated with
the float property and another box that jumps it with the clear
property.
Show the page in IE and highlight (using the mouse) some text in the
blue box (include some line on the side of the gray box).
Then click anywhere (out of the highlight zone).
RESULT: some text lines (on the side of the gray...

I am trying to build a page with a header, 2 columns in the middle and
a footer. The left column contains the menu, the right column the real
content. Instead of giving the content column a left margin with the
width of the menu, i am giving the content column a border with the
width of the menu. (This makes life easier for me in the case that the

I was experimenting with buttons in HTML/CSS and encountered some strange
behaviour when changing the padding property setting in the stylesheet.
Maybe it's not a stylesheet issue, but since that's where changes made do
result in problems, it's where I'll start to understand what is wrong.
I have some hyperlinked text inside a box made to appear as a simple button.
When I try to add more padding to the box to make it larger, this works OK...

this is really strange... I cant find what is wrong...
so, #botonera have a left margin of 18px, but IE make it 36px!
If I put a margin of 30px, IE make it 60px!
I am crazy?

Hello, yes..it must be hard to try and help someone else coding but
today is a full week of sadness and stress for IE CSS rendering and I
need your help.
Here you have a link that looks nice with Opera and Firefox but it
shows problems with IE6 (I've no idea with IE7):

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
