I noticed a reformatting text problem with IE5 on a mac. This is the
only place I've seen this happen. Safari on mac is fine, as is every
browser I tested (IE6,Firefox,NN ) on windows.
When a block level element (ie. a <p> or <div>) contains links (<a
href="">), IE on the mac will flow the text in a very irregular way,
breaking the text flow where there is no apparent reason for breaking
it, sometimes halfway the line, although there is space enough to add
more text on that line.
Anyone have a work-around for this? I don't like to worry so much about
such a small percentage of users, but it happens that most of the
people in my office are mac users ;)
Thanks,

I want to flow text in an "irregular" column on the left and place a
large image at the top of an "irregular" column to the right. Then after
the bottom of the large image I want the text column on the left to
expand part way to the right, but not all the way to the right, as I want
a smaller image on the right. Then this will continue to the bottom of
the page. The text needs to flow down in the left column. And the right

I can send (email_address,subject,text) to outlook express.
What I can't do is retain the line breaks. Could anyone please
tell me how to do that?
Sending "\r\n" doesn't force line breaks.
Sending rtf doesn't work because outlook express cannot deal with rtf.
I would prefer to send ASCII across.

I am carrying the input of a textbox via querystring. When I put the value
of querstring in a label control, the line breaks are removed. The whole
text is displayed as a single line. How can I carry the text as it is
entered? Thanks in advance,

I was recently put in charge of heading up my company's website, and
while I have a lot of experience on the design side of things, I'm
still very new to the programming side. When I started, the website had
just gotten a revision, but the site was an utter mess, so I've been
trying to fix it up. As I've gone along, I've learned some aspects of
PHP, but my knowledge is still very limited.
Here is the problem I'm trying to fix. A backend...

how can I do that with a for loop?
MY solution which is not that elegant involves if statements (or switch

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
