An anonymous contributor writes "XML.com just published an article
titled [0]Printing XML: Why CSS Is Better than XSL written by Michael
Day and [1]Hkon Wium Lie. The article was written in response to
[2]Norm Walsh's claim that [3]CSS will never fix [printing]. Did you
hear me? CSS will never fix it!. The article shows how a [4]100-line CSS
style sheet gives you the same formatted version of [5]W3C's Webarch as
the [6]1000-line XSL style sheet by using [7]Prince."

Okay, one is envolved with Prince, but why is the other one promoting that
instead of making his company's product print better? Not owning a printer
myself, I don't care much anyway.

What the fuck? This is Usenet! This is where discussion was invented,
popularized and, after considerable experience, declared futile.

properly, the likelihood is that they will miss it fairly hard."

I am trying to find the definition of "Safe Printing" and cannot find out exactly what this entitles. The reason is that I am trying to print contents from a single textbox to no avail using the PrintDialog control under a security setting with only SafePrinting allowed. I have attached a sample project that I am using to try to accomplish this. The print dialog appears, but when I press the Print button, I get an exception (at the end...

Hi all, I'm opening an xml file in c# and storing it in a dataset for use inside a datagrid (Windows application). After, I'm going to modify and print the data. I tried a test print of the datagrid itself and it doesn't look very pretty. I also tried opening the file into Excel and printing it from there. That was better but the format is really nothing much to look at. What would be the best angle to take considering that each row...

Hi, I want to develop a 'truly' object oriented application, that is, my business logic objects handle the business logic (of course) and the persistence to a MS SQL server database. The user interface only deals with objects (sometimes using reflection to make them 'editable'). I want to know if anybody has a good suggestion how to print my (collections of) objects. I dont want to use a tool like crystal reports, because it accesses the...

Greetings. BACKGROUND: My sites are pure XHTML 1.1 with CSS 2.1 for markup. My pages are delivered as application/xhtml+xml for all non-MS web clients, and as text/xml for all MS web clients (Internet Explorer). My flash content was originally brought in via the “flash satay” method, but I have since used some server-side magic do deliver one <objecttag

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
