I have created a 3 column liquid design webpage, the left and right columns
are fixed at 200 pixels, the center one re-sizes when needed, however I want
the minimum size of the center div to be 350, and so therefore the minimum
size of the page would be 750px, no matter what.
At the minute, if i re-size my screen lower than 400, the 2 side columns
come close together and block the center one completely, is it possible to
do this without the use of spacer gifs or anything like that???

min-width: 350px;
Shame IE doesn't support it.

Is there anything similar that IE supports as that does the job perfect in
firefox. Steve

You forgot to mention the obvious - fixing the width does not make it a
fluid (liquid?) design.

True but the design doesn't need to work for anythin, the smallest browser
it has to work for is 800x600, no pda or nothin, i just want it to expand to
full and re-size to only that size. I'm designing it for the customers
needs, which means only half of a liquid design if you know what i mean This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Here's the problem: Suppose we use:

f = some_socket.makefile()
Then:
f.read() is efficient, but verbose, and incorrect (or at
least does not play will with others);

I've run CSSCheck on my style sheets and I always get a warning

Warning: Absolute length units should not generally be used on the Web ..."
Yet if I use 'x-small' instead of 9pt, I get bigger type on IE6 and smaller
type on
Mozilla. My choices seem to be:

I need to design a class for fixing different kind of errors. The

is different. I do not want to use a switch...case statement for

My program produces a number of overviews, for which
I use different forms, which are displayed. These forms are
displayed at certain positions on the screen. I don't want
the user of the program to start moving them about.
Is there a way to fix displayed forms on the screen so
they cannot be moved about?
Thanks.

I am using a table with no column widths specified, letting the
table layout manager do its thing for figuring out the column
widths, and this works just fine.
Now I want to make the table dynamic. I have added a filtering
mechanism (in javascript) that can be used to hide unneeded
rows. However, each time I hide or show rows, the column sizes
change, and this doesn't look good.
Is there a way that I can preserve the column widths...

Hi - I'm just learning basic file i/o stuff, and the following input
routine skips the first entry in text files. I would guess it's a
similar phenomenon as when there's a CR left in the buffer and you need
to do a cin.get() to clear it. But I really don't know. Lil help?
Another thing: I initially wanted to use the conditional-? operator
inline in the cout statement at the end. Doing so never worked
(compiles fine, just gives incorrect...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
