css q: scrolling central text with header and footer

A problem I am puzzling with:
I would like a page with a header (stuck to the top of the browser
window, say 50px high), and a footer (stuck to the bottom, also 50px).
Between these there is text, which sometimes may be too much for the
available space (between header and footer. So I'd like the scroll bar
to appear then.
I've had it all working at some stage in Firebox, but it would not
work properly in IE (due to 'bug' in IE).
I know "Overflow: auto;" is used to get the scroll bar to appear in
the box, but the problem is the margins I set to this box - the box
wants appear below the footer.

Any assistance appreciated.

One of the properties I have is: border-top-width: 30px I'd like to put some text on this border; align it and such. It is part of more complicated floating column text-box I'm working on for a page. Possible, or should I be looking at an alternative method? Thanks

I have had great success with using <iframe> with overflow-y set to auto. I can get a similar look with the <iframe> tag. BUT... In all cases I need to have fixed heights. Is there a way to put either tag inside an HTML <TD> and have the same kind of scrolling effect. This would allow me to fill the screen and have the size of the scrolling box change on resize. Thanks in advance.

Hi folks. I have a form that has a form header and form footer, which has a few command buttons. When I open the form, I have to scroll the form from left to right to view my data. The thing is, the buttons in the header and footer will also scroll from left to right. How do I prevent this, i.e. make the buttons stay put?

Hello Access Developers, I'd like to know if it is possible to perform a count in an expression that defines a control source. My report is based on a query. In my report, I want a text box to display the number of times a certain value appears in a certain field (i.e. perform a ‘count'). I will be doing this for many values in many fields so do not wish to have scores of queries to build my report.

Hi All, I've noticed that in a lot of my forms and tables, when I'm on continuous view, I can't scroll when the focus is in a field or on a control. Meaning, if I have a list, and start scrolling, it always jumps back to the focus the second the scrolling is done. While I like this in some cases, it can get to be annoying. I try to

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
