.Net / J2EE

I am new to advanced programming.I want to learn some advanced programming.I knew some basics of vb6.0,c,c++,Java2.

So i want study one of these either .net or J2ee.

So please guide me which one is the better for industry either .Net or J2EE

And also write some similarity and difference between .Net and J2EE


I am waiting for your good suggestions and answers........
