Hi SQL gurus!
My PC crashed but was able to recover some of my data including the
directory and folder with SQL Server 2000. I bought a new PC and want
to restore some of my databases. I tried to create a new database with
the same name and then copy and paste data and log files to a Data
folder but the system wouldn't allow me to do that. Is there any other
way to use my data and log files to restore datbases on the new PC?
Many thanks!

We are installing an application with MSSQL database at our users place.
Now we have two instances of the same database:
- developing database, on which we are working at
- production database, which is at our user's place.
That 2 databases would have to be syncronised.
Users will of course enter some data into production database. How can we
change the production database do reflect changes we have made on the

I have a production database with a backup job that creates files with the
naming convention dbname_db_200503291800.bak. I want to schedule a restore
job that will retire yesterdays backup. How can I write my restore statement
so that it will specify the backup file with yesterdays date.
Thanks

We do not have a DBA available, and this is a development environment,
hence I was asked to do the work. I am not a DBA. I need some help to
clarify my understanding of DB2 recovery and I am reading the following

hi.
i need to restore an old database. The db was backed up using a DLT drive,
using 2 volumes. The content for the tapes was copied to file onto Solaris
machine using rsh and dd (for backup purposes). Now, the drive is defective
and can't read the tapes anymore.
Server is AIX 4.3.2 and database is IBM DB2 Server (DB2 for AIX Version
2.1.2)

I'm looking for a PHP program to backup and restore a mysql database.
I'm using Godaddy to host a forum. Their mysql control panel will only
restore a database of two megabytes or less. My database is over 13
megabytes in size.

Howdy,
We are experiencing a bizarre problem under Linux attempting to restore a DB2 database. The backup was created on this machine, and is being restored to the same machine, but changing the name of the database, and redirecting the tablespaces. The system is running DB2 Express C V9.5 and RHEL5 with latest updates
The restore commands we are trying to run are as follows:
RESTORE DATABASE CARDS FROM "/opt/rccs/data/backups"...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
