From what you say, I guess connecting it to the computer doesn't work anymore? (Meaning: The BIOS can't find it anymore.) If it does, try what Google finds for you. If not, you'll have to ask Professionals (like DTIDATA or HardDriveRecove ry for example) for help. They will probably be able to recover your files, but they will want money for the job.

By the way, those two companies both sit in the US. If you aren't in the US, I'm sure you'll be able to find a service to do the job in your country.

Greetings,

I just found out from someone named Frank M. Kromann in one of the other PHP forum websites that I don't have to recompile PHP on Linux in order to add a database connector. I've been pulling my hair out on this issue for several days now, so I wish to publicly thank Frank M. Kromann, whereever he is. He didn't leave a valid reply email to me, but he's alright in my book. Let's say you have a beautiful Linux and PHP install. Everything...

Hello, We're using Office XP on Windows 2000 SP4. After installing the Oracle Connector for Outlook the following problem occurs: Emails sent by Outlook, in HTML format, do have a strange format. The text/plain section of the message source is left empty. Therefore some mailclients cannot display the body, so recipients think they receive

Hallo, I am trying to create a C# service which connects to the SAP DMS system using SAP .NET Connector. The service shall get a list of all documents in a DMS system, and extract all documents to local disk. The DMS system uses SAP Content Server as storage. However, I would appreciate some advice about how to extract the documents from the DMS system. Which BAPI/RFC methods can be used to retrieve a list of all documents, and then...

Hi all, I've deleted 2 folders and emptied the trash bin on a hard disk in Windows XP. And then I found that I've no back-up of these folders. I want to rescue the data in these folders. The hard disk with NTFS is connected to the PC through USB. Since the deletion I've made no writing on this disk. I can imagine that the data can be rescued, at least a part of them. A program which does the similar job as CHKDSK in DOS should help me:...

Ok - I have given up on trying to find the active IP address for a given PC. For licensing purposes I need to retrive a unique identifier from the PC that the program is installed on. The Hard disk serial number would do fine, but on Googling it seems that some of the sample code will now laways work on W2K, and not without administrator rights. Hence my question - how can I consistently get a UNIQUE PC identifier using vb.net 2003 - not...

FYI. You may never experience this but if you do, this may save some time debugging the problem. A person left his computer to do some other tasks and when he'd come back the links to the backend didn't exist. What happened was that the person had a new computer. In the Control Panel there's an option (at least for the Dell computer he's working on) for Power Options. The option "Turn Off Hard Disks" was not set to Never but to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
