Sandisk USB Memory stick - Device not reconised

11 New Member
Hi all, firstly i apologise if this has appearred before, i did search for it, honest :)

i have a sandisk memory stick, which works great at work, but as soon as i plug it into my home machine, it registers as device unknown in all my USB ports. I have seen this happen before with various other Memory sticks but i have got around it by using a different port.
Anybody able to shine some light on this? My OS is Windows XP home, the work one is XP pro.

Thanks in advance

It's got to be a driver issue. If you have a later verson of XP pro like SP2 then it might have more intrinsic drivers then XP home of an earlier version. Try downloading the drivers from sandisk and installing them. That should solve your problems.

Hi, I'm trying to access memory directly at 0xb800 (text screen). I tried this: char far* screen = (char far*)0xb8000000; but apparently c++ compiler doesn't know "far" (says "syntax error before *"). I've tried using __far, _far, FAR, _FAR, and __FAR, all with the same result. So, then I tried this:

Is there a way to 'install' and use Python on a memory stick, just as you would on any computer? I use Windows, and I know the installation does things with the registry, so probably I couldn't use the executable file to install it. But is it possible to do it some other way, such as how you might build it yourself on Linux (although I don't...

Hi, I'm not 100% sure that this is an Access problem. A friend of mine has an Access 2003 database. Occasionally he brings a copy to me so that I can import some of his data into my Access 2003 database. For years he has done this with no problems by bringing his copy on a CD. However, last week he put his database onto a memory stick and...

I'm using Vista and have just plugged in a USB Flash mem (Toshiba 1GB preformatted) for the first time. I was transferring pics to the flash mem ok until I got to around 200mb and then I received error 0x80070052 and was unable to transfer any more pics, despite there still being close to 800mb free on the stick. I also noticed that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
