Hello to everybody, I've done an application that draws in a frame the trajectory of a robot. The robot position is readed through the serial port, and several commands are wrote through the same port to change the direction of the robot. The trajectory frame is managed by an applet, and the project works good when the applet is called by a html document allocated in the same local machine under W98 where the classes and the serial port...

Hi, I'm trying to write a program to read from the serial port & write whatever that is read to the X console (/dev/tty7). For X to recognize the characters sent, I believe you have to send "scancodes". Any suggestion is appreciated. This is my attempt which doesn't work:

I would like to know more about Interfacing hardware devices through .NET. We're students and what we're trying to do is control our robots with printer or serial port interfacing... very similar to C++ classic style. Please help us as it could do great wonders for our project.

Hi all I am having a problem reading from a serial port, first of all I have now resorted to using the MSComm ActiveX control on my Windows Forms to provide me with the interface to my serial port. is there no other way to do this - it has to be simple or well explained because I'm still new to the .NET world and c#. I did stumble across an article on the MSDN site where I downloaded a file NetSerialComm.exe - I think it was from one of the...

SetCommState(hComPort, &comDCB); which enables me to toggle the RTS and DTR pins. I am programming a microcontroller and I have to toggle these two pins several times WITHOUT opening and closing the port, but I cant seam to

Hi all, I am fairly new to python, but not programming and embedded. I am having an issue which I believe is related to the hardware, triggered by the software read I am doing in pySerial. I am sending a short message to a group of embedded boxes daisy chained via the serial port. When I send a 'global' message, all the connected units should reply with their Id and Ack in this format '0 Ack' To be certain that I didn't miss a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
