I have some programs running on Red Hat Linux 7.3 working with IBM DB2
V6.1 (with all the FixPacks) on my old machine.
I have just installed IBM DB2 V8.1 on this (new) machine running Red Hat
Enterplise Linux 3 ES, and applied FixPack fp5_mi00069.tar to it. After
creating an instance, starting the database, creating a database, and
entering the table definitions, all of which seems to work OK, I entered a
tiny 8-row table and can do...

In C, I can execute
system("gs gleep.ps");
and have C run a ghostscript program gleep.ps, which might ask for user
input and, when it gets it, take some actions and report back to the
C program. I think I can probably handle that last step by having ghostscript
write to a file and have the C program read the file.
That's ok for one interactive program. Suppose I want to have two or more

Any books that helped you progress in C programming?
Where do you begin with C programming?
Can you recommend any websites?
How many months or years did it take you to become knowledge to write
software?

Greetings.
I'm a VB6 programmer that has just installed the VB.Net. I would like to
learn VB.NET as quickly as possible. Already I'm finding simple issues such
as the Print object not supported in VB.Net. Wish to port my programs over
to VB.Net before I continue on them.
Was wondering what book most of you had found to be really good at taking a
VB6 programmer into the NET world.

I have found one .Net control that I just love......DotNetBar. But, I
haven't found a plethora of great controls or class libraries (like I had
with my VB 6).
What am I missing? (No spam please. I'm looking for controls that you use
in your own projects that you like.)
Please include links to the sites if you have them. (DotNetBar is at

For students 9th - 12th grade, with at least Algebra I. Do you think
Python is a good first programming language for someone with zero
programming experience? Using Linux and Python for first exposure to
programming languages and principles.
Thank you.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
