Hi all, I am using python to drive another tool using pexpect. The values which I get back I would like to automatically put into a list if there is more than one return value. They provide me a way to see that the data is in set by parenthesising it. This is all generated as I said using pexpect - Here is how I use it.. child = pexpect.spawn( _buildCadenceExe(), timeout=timeout) child.sendline("somefunction()")

I'm having a very frustrating time with the .NET installer project. I can't make it uninstall a previous installation succsessfully. I also need to create an uninstall icon in the program group and can't figure out how to do that. Do any of you know a site where I might find some tips on using the .NET installer? What other installer (if any) integrate into VS2005 as well? Does Installshield work well with .net assemblies and...

Hello NG, I realized, that my application won't start, if a referenced assembly is missing. Basically this is understandable, but since I destribute my applictaion without a setup, it can happen that I forget one or the other .dll. Since my app depends on a whole bunch of .dll it would be great, if the app could tell me which assemblies are missing instead of not starting at all.

I'm really starting to hate writing services -- or trying to, anyway. Why do I need to rename my project to the service name? Why do I need to set the "ServiceName" property to my service name? Why do I need to set a property within my code to the service name? Are all these required or am I just doing this for consistency purposes?

This is my first custom installer and essentially I needed to create one that installed windows installer 3.1 then installed .Net 2.0 Service Pack 1. I could not find a pre-packaged .Net 2.o SP 1 installer package anywhere so this is my attempt. The problem seems to be that when I first created it if .NET 2.0 was installed it would not install .NET 2.0 SP1 so I commented out the line where it checks but that leads the installer to try...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
