I have a question regarding embedded controls in IE. We are looking to replace a small VB ActiveX control with something written in C#. We have written the control and it instantiates correctly in IE using the <object> tag. My question is this. When the browser visits the pages and requests the object from the server, it appears to be making many unnecessary requests for configuration files and resources files as well. I am using the...

I have an animated gif playing fine in a picture box. However, I don't want it to keep looping, I only want to play it twice. I found some code that gets the active frame and loads it looping through, but I cant get it to work. With this code, it didn't do any animation. I found this: For f = 0 To animatedGif.GetFrameCount(frameDimension) - 1 animatedGif.SelectActiveFrame(frameDimension, f) Dim memoryStream As New...

Hi! I have embedded Python in an C++ App. The Python-Interpreter is running in its own Thread (I'm using PThreads). I use PyRun_SimpleString to run Python-Code that the user entered in an editorwindow. I want the user to be able to stop the execution of Python-Code (e.g. using a Cancel-Button).

Hello I have a stream of bytes - unsigned char*. But the 'string' may contain embedded nulls. So not like a traditional c string terminated with a null. I need to calculate the length of these arrays but can't use strlen because it just stops counting at the first null it finds. so how to do it? Angus

Hi all - first post! anywho; I need to create a function for speeding up and down a looping clip. imagine a rotating object, triggered by an action, and slowly decreasing in speed, till it reaches a point 0 (compare a hand spinning a fortune wheel). now, this is quite an easy this to achieve, since you just have to set an interval to increase rotation, with a value that decreases over time (on every call), till it finally reaches a...

I've created a class to listen to all interfaces and do a BeginAccept(). Once it gets a connection, it passes the connected socket off and stores it in a List. Next, it continues to listen for more incoming connections and does the BeginAccpet() again. It does an infinite loop this way. My question is: What is the best way to stop this? I thought about putting a boolean in there, but then what if it's still waiting for an incoming...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
