I have a query that is showing new items in a store based upon their
inventory date. The problem with my Random order sort is that when the
"next" link is pressed, the random function is called again and I may see
the image previously displayed rather than go through the entire new
inventory.
Any suggestions on how to prevent that occurrence?

Hi Yall
I have a page where I want 5 images to appear, randomly selected from a pool
of 50 images called 1.jpg to 50.jpg
The following code works nicely, except for one (probably obvious)
problem...
$count=1;
do {

I am using random to generate random numbers, thus:
int x,y;
for (y = 0;y < 5;y++)
{
x = random(50);
cout << x;
}

Hi everyone.
I've recently written a classic asp website which uses an MS Access
datasource. I know this is less than an ideal data source as it has
limited functionality. I have a search form on my website which allows
users to define parameters and return results accordingly. The problem
i have is a need to return these results in a random order each time.
With SQLServer i know NEWID() would do the trick - used this many times
before...

I have almost completed a monster assignment on sorting algorithms (quick, insertion and selection) using c++ but I am lost on one part of the assignment. I have to generate a random list of numbers in reverse order as follows "list = 25.88 - sqrt(i)" and perform all my sorting functions no this list. I have successfully run my program on numerous lists of random numbers.. I just have no clue how to get a reverse generated list of random...

I have to create a listing in random order from a few mysql tables.
I can't use ORDER BY RAND() for a few reasons:
- The random order has to change only every 24hs, ie: today it will show rows number 4 2 3 1 and tomorrow 2 3 1 4, but it should be the same all day long.
- I'm dividing the results in pages using LIMIT x, y.
I suppose I would have to save the random order in a mysql table, but how can I order the results based on that...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
