Button has to be clicked two or three times to work

1 New Member
I am having problems with several buttons on my web page. Im using Flash MX 2004 and Dreamweaver. When I test the movie, at first I have to click the buttons two or three times to go to the web page im requesting. Not all the buttons on my menu do this. After I click the buttons they work fine and do not require me to click them 2 or 3 times to get that page. Also It is doing this on buttons within the web pages ive created. Any ideas??

the problem sounds like your pages are not yet loaded, and once you have loaded them then they are stored in your cache and this problem does not happen any more. note, IE does NOT cache locally run files, so this will happen every time you test the site. if you test online, however, it will probably only happen once and then be fine for a while. what you need to do is add some sort of a preloader to the menu buttons that will show some progress bar, so that when users load your page for the first time and push the button, they will get some message, aka "working... " or a progress bar(which would be harder). if you are decent at AS, try to add a progress bar. otherwise, just make a text box

on (release) {
some_instance_n ame.text = "Loading... ";
}

ps. i think FF does cache local files, i dont remember exactly
pps. IE = Internet Explorer, FF = Firefox

Hi Using VS.NET 2003, Windows XP SP1, We have a page which has been developed using ASP.NET. On it, is a button which when clicked is supposed to add some data to a table. When the button is selected, it causes the ServerClick event to be called twice. Here's the code: You'll see that there are two grids on the page, and that the function SetupDataGrid populates data to the two grid. There are also

I dynamically create buttons and associate them with an event using AddHandler. I want all the button events to fire at one time, when the page is posted, instead of when each button is clicked. How I stop the buttons from posting back when they are clicked? Thanks

I have a v2.0 site that has a form with a GO button which runs another application and then returns some data which is then processed and then I issue a response.redirect to another form to display the returned data. My problem is that it is possible for a user to click the button several times causing the external app to run several times. My first thought was to set the button.enabled = false as soon as it is clicked but that does...

I am building a simple card matching game where the user picks two buttons on a form out of a group of buttons in an attempt to find a match. I have already taken care of the randomization needed to make each game different, but I can't figure out how to check to see if the cards match. Pseudocode:when any one of a group of buttons is pressed set button's text = button's tag note the button's tag search point array for tag, and...

I have a webform in C#. This form has both a gridview and a formview. The formview displays the details of the selected gridview index. No problem there. On the formview is a button. When this button is clicked it sends an email to the DBAs asking for a database request to be run. This works as well. However I would like to idiot proof this webform. I would like to restrict DBA requests to only the sql that is in Code submitted, testing,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
