Advice on 'constructing a completely Flash based website ?

14 New Member
Hi

I need to create something similar to

http://www.kitchen-consultants.co. uk/

inparticular the 'contracts' side

is this done with scenes ? ie. how do you keep the menu structure at the side visable all the time ?

are there any good tutorials for such a site.

Regards

Ashley

it looks like there are prob three movies,
1. the main flash movie
2. the contracts and retail movies

they probably load different movies based on buttons. in the contracts, the used buttons for the entire movie. i dont know the exact event names, so you will need to look up buttons tutorial, but basically what they did was create the contracts main page, and the links on the side and middle are "buttons". when they are moused over, the picture changes. when they are clicked, the dynamic text box changes. it is basic AS, just look for a good tutorial on buttons. there are a bunch of tutorials listed on a sticky at the top of this forum

We are going to develop an application that uses flash heavily in a ASP.NET application. We are not sure how ASP.NET/HTML/C#/ADO.NET talks to flash. And also how to test the performance of flash for large volume website. Any information related to this is highly appreciated. Are there any tools available to simulate the mutil-user expecience in flash that provides performance data? tia

Hello all, I don't mean to exclude the rest of the world here, but I think this will be more applicable for me. What's the going rate for freelance web designing in the USA? I know it probably varies from city to city, but I need a ball park idea. Do you charge per hour? Per page? Per project? I did a website for my son's private school. It's a small school with a

I am webmaster for the domain <www.alpha1.org.au>. Not being an expert in html, I take advantage of my domain Registrant's web building tool, 'Instant Website'. This tool is provided as part of the fee I pay for web hosting. 'Instant Website' provides the option of having your opening page as a Flash Page, which you'll see if you visit <www.alpha1.org.au>. Well, you'll see it if you visit from a Windows machine. For some reason, when...

I'm working on examples of programming in several languages, all (except PHP) running under CGI so that I can show both the source files and the actually running of the examples online. The first set of examples, after decoding the HTML FORM contents, merely verifies the text within a field to make sure it is a valid representation of an integer, without any junk thrown in, i.e. it must satisfy the regular expression: ^ *?+ *$ If the...

I have been asked to create some simple animation using Adobe Flash player in ASP.NET(C#) web application. While I am fairly well versed with ASP.NET C#, I absolutely have NO IDEA about how to say "Hello World" in a Flash enabled web page rendered via ASP.NET. Can any one let me get started? ---

I have not formally read anything about Flash, dreamweaver or fireworks, but I have a question about handling events concerning onmouseover, and onmouseclick. Let me first ask this. I am using a nice flash button on my companies splash page. If it is clicked once a little green light comes one. Well, my vision is that once the button is pressed once I want the website to appear in a frame above the button, in a thumbnail size. (sounds cool...

I am building a website and I am displaying an animated image. The image was originally an animated gif. However, the graphic designer has told me that the best way forward (better animation + smaller file size), would be to use a small .swf file. Currently, I am using the <img/tag in my HTML file, to have the image loaded and displayed in the page. I will need to change this line so that instead of the animated gif file, teh browser...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
