Hello,
I am trying to reference a Shockwave Flash Object on a vb code behind page
in an ASP.NET project and I receive the following error:
Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes
(xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).
On the aspx page I have the object tag as follows:

I am trying to work out a very simple way to get a Flash form to
commmunicate with a .aspnet application that will somehow receive parameters
from the flash file.
Or, vice versa stream database content into a flash mx file via an
asp.net/xml type application.
Although I brand new to .NET I have picked up the following options:
1. Flash remoting using web services

Hi there,
First I'll apologise for my ignorance!
I have been attempting to compile some code that I found on the net.
AFAICT it's intended to be portable code (it was available as source and
as a DOS binary, but mention was made of UNIX in the readme - I am
compiling under Mac OS X, fwiw).

Hello,
I am trying to parse a string and I am surprised by the result(*)
When using:
sscanf(s, "%03u%c", &val, &f);
If a number less than 3 digits is found, shouldn't sscanf report
that ?
Thanks
Mathieu

Hi,
I am trying to pass a function an array of strings, but I am having trouble
getting the indexing to index the strings rather than the individual
characters of one of the strings.
I have declared an array as:
char *stringArray = {"one","two","three","a"};
When I pass the array using:

Hi friends,
I am very new here, could you please give me some suggestions? Is FLASH
the right technology? Or if there is any better solution?
Purpose - To generate multiple simple moving objects like a box on my
website that can move from left to right and up/down. The moving
objects have to be dynamically generated according to different
products and the sharps are a little bit different.

I need your help. Desperately. Someone has to be able to fix the utter balls up I've made after dinking around in Flash for the last four days.
I have no prior knowledge of anything other than how to point and click, so I figured the fastest way to get comfortable with both Flash and Dreamweaver was to immerse myself in them and see how fast I wanted to commit suicide. If you can seriously look at this stuff for more than a day or two in a...

Hello,
I found this simple js star rating script that I want to modify slightly.
firstly I want to retain current vote , say 3 stars, untill its changed again.
right now it resets to unvoted on refresh. I know you could use cookies but
I also want to give it a unique identifier so that if i put it in my topic header templet, its unique to each topic (retaining whatever vote for each topic untill changed again) .
perhaps this is not...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
