Hi, I use a handy little Javascript Flash detection script on a number of sites (copied below). Usually works great, but I just started trying Firefox and it's not working. A few browsers are referenced in the script so I presume that Firefox needs to be added somewhere -- does anyone know how I could update this to be supported by Firefox? Thanks! <SCRIPT TYPE="text/JavaScript">

Here is the script I have in my page : <!-- Begin function popUp(URL) { day = new Date(); id = day.getTime(); eval("page" + id + " = window.open(URL, '" + id + "', 'toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=0,width=194,height=146,left = 440,top = 288');"); }

My page uses a horizontal navigation bar that requires a JavaScript file to force IE to do hovers. It worked great in both Fire Fox and IE until some Flash code was added. This is how the Flash was added: First JavaScript was used to "onload" some files in the body tag. That caused the mouseover fix to fail. I solved that by moving the JavaSript call to the bottom of the page. Then I added some Flash code and the IE hover fix failed...

Hi, I have a javascript automatically created by adobe captivate 2 to generate an html file that integrates the desired my.swf file and the skin for the flash player (my_skin.swf). The script within the html page is this: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- writeDocument('<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0"...

I have the html/javascript posted below, I imagine the fix to my problem is something simple that I am overlooking. My script is a little bit of html and javascript, and there is an embedded flash file written in actionscript. This is a test page, and I am furious that it is posing such a problem. I am communicating between the html and flash object. My goal is to populate the flash object textbox with the value of the html combobox (I...

Hi. I must first say I'm not an experienced scripter. Here's my problem and how far I am so far. I struggled for awhile to get the browser to fill most of it with my flash movie and keep it proportional if the user chooses to size up or size down. This pretty much takes care of the browser size complications. Here is original script and it works. But now I have few problems after this. CODE#1 <!-- masked --> <html> <head>...

I've been asked to help out with the navigation bar on this page: http://www.thesecondroad.org/ The drop down menu (which is pure CSS, save for a fix for IE) appears behind the Flash module. As I understand the problem, if everything on the page was absolutely positioned, the designer could give the navbar a z-index that lifts it above the Flash module. However, nothing on the page is absolutely positioned. Instead, everything is...

Hey everyone, i've been playing around with trying to get some scripts to work with detecting whether flash player is installed on your computer or not. I found a flash detection kit on the adobe site which had a client side detection method using javascript. Basically what im trying to get it to do is if flash player is installed, use the style property display="none" to hide my static content, and if flash is not installed hide the flash...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
