Hello all.
I doing a project which uses Macromedia's Flash program and Python. This
is a 'because i want to see if i can do it' kind of thing, so i know
that there will be better/easier ways to accomplish what i'm about to
lay out!
I am going to use a flash app as a kind of chat app, but because Flash
does not accept incoming socket connections, i'd like to use a small
Python server to act as the socket proxy (i think that's the right...

Hi,
we have the following problem:
in our application v1.0 we have static html pages (+ some javascript).
With a CMS (a Content Management System) some "mortal" people can add
or expand the available images for the start site. The site loads
randomly an image or a Flash animation (if the flash plugin is
present) through a javascript and each time the start site loades and
displays only 1 different picture. At the moment the name of...

I'm interested in setting up a web page where live data can be
displayed in real-time on the web page.
For example: I would like to display a (nice looking) graph of some
data value versus time and have the graph update every second without
the user having to do anything like hit a refresh button. The data to
plot is readily available from an application running on the server - I
can expose it in whatever way is needed (currently easily...

Hi,
I am trying to put together the last major pieces of my project's
puzzle. This is more website/client-side architecture than
JavaScript syntax but I hope this is a good place to ask. I'm a little
stumped with which direction to take and advice would be greatly
appreciated. I think this is a generally interesting problem but I
haven't seen a post this long here before :S
I have developed half of the admin interface for an e-commerce

Hi
Hard to know where to post this and I don't want to double post it - please move it if you need to,
I am trying to connect a Flash client socket (XML) to a php socket server (using Flash 8 and php 5).
My php socket server responds correctly when I connect to it with a php client socket but I cannot connect with the flash xml client socket.
Both codes are included below - they are both in the same folder on the web site and I am only...

Since around 10th May (a couple of days after the recent IE autoupdate), a web application which has worked without problem for several years has developed intermittent problems with data posted from a form not being received by our server scripts.
Having not been able to find the cause of this, we firstly tried the application on three different servers (all Linux) at different ISPs and the same problems occurred. We then completely...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
