Cannot open the file in excel

1 New Member
I cannot open a excel file as it is giving an error message:

"Microsoft office has identified a potential security concern"

When i say enable or Disable the file opens and its blank with no data displayed.

There could be hidden sheets, or data connections that aren't linked to any data on the workbook, or VBA code in the background.

Version of Office/Excel?

This warning concerns either VBA-Macros or Hyperlinks that Office has flagged as potentially harmful. It would be helpful to know what type of data you are expecting such as something from a linked data source etc...

That is a standard warning to indicate the file you are opening has web links and macros.

If you trust the file, just say OK or “Allow”

You can control if this message is displayed: Office button > Excel Options button > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings button (I have no idea why they have this extra button, DUMB DESIGN! )

This was already basically stated in both Rabbit's and my post.

The suggestion to allow the trusted state is not something I offered on purpose as allowing a document to be trusted when it is not behaving correctly to begin with is potentially a harmful act to the user's PC and network. Until Atroharju contacts the person who sent the file or reviews the file carefully to ensure that nothing malicious is contained therein I highly advise against placing the file in a trusted state either by location or by permissions.

I guess there is a .lib used by this project was compiled by VC 6.0 but I can not get its source code. How can I do? I want to add mfc42.lib to project's library list, but I can't find where this option is. Thanks & Regards, Weiming

Hello again, I am trying to convert a VC6 project to VC9, and the linker tells me that it cannot open file 'LIBC.lib'. But I didn't find this lib referenced or added anywhere. I used the linker option /VERBOSE:LIB, to have the compiler logging which component needs it. But in Build.log it only mentions the error mentioned above, it doesn't tell me any further details. How would you go on now, please?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
