Max length Locate can handle

1 New Member
Hi

I want to handle an input of lenght 50000. Hence defined as BLOB(48K). I use a locate statement in one of the update Query which uses this input string in the WHERE Clause. Its throwing SQL -302 . Can anyone give me a solution for this. How do i use locate for such huge inputs?

Hi all! Please tell me how long the GET parameter can be. Is there a limit for each parameter itself, or a limit in the whole? I thought there would be a maximum of 1024 characters, but it seems to work with more. thx Kolja

I've been working on a program in VC++. The basic operation of the system I'm working with is that I create a file in on directory, the system picks it up and generates a report in another directory, which I then read in and to strip out the information I need. The file I'm reading is not named with any correlation to the file name I wrote...

python-gpib provides Gpib.py (see end of post) for Linux. I am trying to use the method called read. I usually use it without arguments (the default length being 512). However, I am trying to read in a string with some 16,000 comma separated floating point numbers. So, I have to pass a length parameter much much larger than 512. As is...

I am having a lot of trouble understanding the last parameter of the XmlTextReader's ReadBase64 method, length. In all the examples I have been able to find on the web, the developer seems to already know that value and hard codes it. I am attempting to pass a decoded base64 xmlstring from a vb6 application to a web service. The...

Hello I have a stream of bytes - unsigned char*. But the 'string' may contain embedded nulls. So not like a traditional c string terminated with a null. I need to calculate the length of these arrays but can't use strlen because it just stops counting at the first null it finds. so how to do it? Angus

I am trying to convert a vb6 project to vb.net. The conversion worked for the most part except for the fixed length strings and fixed length string arrays. Bascially the vb6 programmer stored all form data in a fixed length structure that is written direct to disk. I need to load the existing files, into a fixed length structure to...

I am trying to locate all lines in a suite of files with quoted strings of particular lengths. A search pattern like r'".{15}"' finds 15-character strings very nicely. But I have some very long ones, and a pattern like r'".{272}"' fails miserably, even though I know I have at least one 272-character string. In the short term, I can resort...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
