DAS/email notifications

Our health center used to send out notification emails but now it
doesn't

We dont have DAS turned on, does that need to be on in order for the
emails to work? Looking into the best way to drop/recreate and get it
working again...thoughts?

I looked in our email logs and the last one is from 8/24, since then
DB2 hasn't even attempted to send out an email it seems

here's my get db2 admin cfg output:

I can just guess it would need DAS running but not from own experiences.
My surveilance scripts were written before IBM came up with health
center. ;-)

If you set localhost as SMTP server, make sure it is really running.
Maybee the machine has been booted and postfix/sendmail whatever are not
started by the runlevel scripts?

on SuSE Linux Enterprise server check

rcpostfix status

If postfix is down, start it with

rcpostfix start

AFAIR it's

service postfix (or sendmail) start on a RH-based system.

use and therefore both must be running.
########### You should not have to drop it. look at its parms. and use:
db2 update admin cfg using....
