Hello -
I am in the process of testing out the new HADR feature of DB2 UDB V8.2
and I have some questions that I was hoping that someone could answer
please.
I have a HADR test set-up with two DB2 instances on the same machine
with the sample database on each set up as an HADR pair in near-synch
mode. I have noticed that when I perform any logged operation on the

Anyone running HADR using VERITAS Cluster Server (VCS)? Our production
outsourcing company has recommended to use VCS instead of Tivoli System
Automation (TSA) for heartbeat monitoring on Linux.
Another question. We assume that automatic client reroute can be used with
Type 4 drivers for J2EE, and that we the type 4 driver version that is
distributed with DB2 Release 8.2. Is that correct?

Hi,
i'd like to know how to implement an automatic failover with HADR.
I've configured 2 databases, one primary and the other standby. Everything
works ok (replciation and takeover).
But if i issue a shutdown force on the primary database, the other database
don't become online. I must use takeover by force.
Is there any way or an option i missed ?

I want to test HADR in a windows environment. As default in DB2 there's
only a manual takover possible. Are there some scripts available how I
can automate this? I've found only some whitepapers with an automatic
takover with HACMP and TSA.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
