Hi All
I am trying to copy data from DB2 to SQL server using SQL Data
Tranformation Services.
I am able to do that by supplying AS400 username/password along with
the iSeries DSN Name, at the time of data retrieval from DB2 database
tables to SQL Server.
Problem is i have 20 different DTS packages, and if i change my AS400

Hello,
we have data sitting on AS400 (V4R5M0) - DB2-400. I need to access
that from my vb.net application. I don't know anything about AS400.
Is it possible to get data from tables and stored procedures?
can somebody give me the code which shows how to do that?
Thanks

Hello All,
I've been struggling on and off for 3 months trying to connect to an
DB2 database running on an IBM iSeries machine.
I FINALLY figured out how to connect with Coldfusion (see instructions
below).
So, now I am trying to connect to the same database with MS Access. I
want to link the tables within Access so I can quickly query and answer

My company is running DB2 on AS400 iSeries V5R3 and making a strong
push to move from RPG/External stored procs to SQL stored procs. My
background is Oracle/SQL Server and am used to using some "SQL Tool" to
assist in creating and modifing stored procs. We are currently limping
along using the SQL editor that comes with iSeries Navigator and
quickly realizing that it's not very user friendly. Especially for
someone without AS400 "green...

Hello,
I would like to ask if there are any differences between DB2 in these
versions (e.g. support of triggers, Java stored procedures and such).
Also, does anyone know from which DB2 AS/400 version is Java officially
supported?
Thank you

Hello.
I'm new to the world of the as400, but not to the world of SQL and
relational databases. I would like to create a view on our as400
machine, but I understand that creating a view will create some sort of
lock on any 'files' that our RPG code references so they cannot be
modified unless the view is invalidated and recompiled after the
changes are made.
Here's the real problem with this, when I create a view using Iseries

Hello people,
I am new to this platform and database. I need to analyze an
application on the AS400 and therefore need to know the operation it
does on the database.
So has anybody links to documentation. I couldn't find good on via
google. I like to rtfm first.
Also if somebody likes to explain directly how to logg SQL on AS400
DB2.

Can someone tell me what I need to get connected to our AS400?
I am trying to write an app in VS2005(Data source, Gridview) that requires
data from files on our AS400. I've downloaded DB2, and installed it, but
apparently I need an additional product, "DB Connect" to actually make a
connection. "DB connect" says that it will only display tables with a type
of "T", and as far as I know, we are using files, not tables on the 400.
Can...

I've worked with DB2 for a long time, but I'm new to the AS400
environment.
I'm having a problem with an SQL statement that runs perfectly when I
use STRSQL, but when I batch it and call RUNSQLSTM, the exact same
statement (with a semicolon added at the very end) fails with the
following error:
Buffer length longer than record for member SBXARDTL.
Member SBXARDTL not journaled to journal *N.
SBXARDTL in QGPL not valid for operation.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
