I'm trying to write a simple python program to access a MySQL
database. I'm having a problem with using MySQLdb to get the results
of a SQL command in a cursor. Sometimes the cursor.execute works,
sometimes not.
From mysql:
mysql> show databases;

Hi,
I am about migrate from an old program database to MySql (Running under RH
LINUX)and I'm wondering which is the best option to do :
I currently have one file for each of my modules, (I'm using filepro plus) ,
so like CUSTOMER, WARRANTY, ZIPCODES, INV, etc... like 2,000 files each with
their own fields.
1) Should I create multiple databases on MySQL

I have an asp.net ecommerce web application on a remote web server.
I'm using an Access database on the back end. I've notice a few
strange things. When I mimic an multiple user environment by surfin
it in multiple browsers simultaneously the site generates a generic
runtime error after awhile. I'm thinking this has something to do
with my access database and multiple connections. I'm using forms
authentication with a login page. Is...

I am preparing to build an app that will pull data from multiple
databases on the same sql server.
For performance sake, is there a more "effecient" way to grab data from
multiple databases at once? I've read a couple of threads and noone
really seemed to give a straight forward answer. I would imagine in a
SP in tsql, that I could just specify the database.owner.table and it
would be the most effecient, just checking my options.

Dear List,
We have a large project with three of the larger components (of the
project) being the eventual creation of a Global Product DB and a Global
Customer DB and a Global Dealer DB.
Because of certain legacy issues, the schema has evolved to be one large
application specific schema containing product, customer, and dealer
tables. A better design would be three separate databases (and we can
pull them apart easily enough), but...

Hi,
How do I at the best way perform select statements over multiple
databases?
I have a couple of databases containing the same table definitions with
diffrent data. Now I want them to act as a single database giving me
one answer on a select statement but the answer fetched from all my
defined databases.

I need to design a system which represents multiple "projects" in SQL
Server. Each project has the same data model, but is independent of all
others. My inclination is to use one database to store all projects.
Looking at the numbers involved, however, I wonder if I would get
better performance by storing each project in its own database.
Suppose I have 50 projects, each with two users and 10,000 rows; it
seems to me I'd rather have 50 x...

Greetings,
I've inherited a project which requires the use of multiple Access
databases, each containing a dozen or so tables each.
I need to perform queries which included relations and results from
the contents of tables from separate databases.
I've got the table adapters configured in the XSDs, connection strings
in the web.config, and use data objects in the site's code, but for
the life of me I cannot figure out how to...

What is the IBM recommendation for the number of DB2-LUW databases per
instance on AIX? With Oracle, it is one-to-one. In DB2 multiple
databases can co-exist in an instance but is this recommended? What
should be considered in making this decision?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
